  1. One night as the people were gathered around the fire in Bridget Car's house a small man with a whisker came in.
    The strange man asked for shelter for the night and it was given to him. He was dressed in a red cloak with a white cap on his head. He also wore red stockings and green shoes.
    After a while the man started talking about gold and the little man said there was a crock of it in a corner of a field nearby.
    This field is situated behind Mary Byrne's house and it is in the townsland of Aughnagleer, Borris.
    They started off to search for the gold with picks and spades and crowbars at midnight
