  1. I live in Drana Co Carlow in St Mullins parish about an Irish mile from the school and chapel The nearest railway station and telepraph office are in Ballywilliam and New Ross is about seven miles away. The family names most common in Drana are Rourkes and Byrnes The houses are slated.
    There are many ruins of houses formerly tenanted by Rourke, Conlay, Freeney, Furlong, and Fox. These people went to America in the time of the famine. Some of the land is good and more of it is hilly and boggy.
