  1. The first nine days of April are joined with March to skin the old cow and these nine days are the coldest in the year.
    Friday is a lucky day for setting eggs. If a new moon rises on a Sunday it is counted very unlucky as regards the weather. Twelve is an unlucky number sometimes because there were twelve apostles at the table with Our Lord and one of them betrayed Him.
    Friday is also lucky for sowing crops because Our Lord died on a Friday Thirteen is lucky because there is luck in odd numbers.
