  1. In this district long ago people boiled sheep's milk and dipped bread down in it and ate the bread to cure measles. Many people were cured in this way. Some - people used to put iodine in their teeth to stop a tooth from paining them.
    Another cure for measles is to put bread in an ass's mouth and eat the bread after taking it out.
    Many people were cured by visiting holy wells. They washed their eyes with the water so that their sight would get good.
