  1. It is a sure sign of rain to see the sun clouded and a rainbow in the morning. The south wind brings rain and the north-west wind brings showers and Brandon hill gets capped. Before rain comes, the smoke blows to the north and the soot falls down.
    The turnhole in Poulmounty roars and rocks weep. The midges fly around in great swarms and the other insects creep along the ground and on the walls.
