  1. 1. Think of me on the river
Think of me on the lake
Think of me on the wedding day
And send me a piece of the cake.
    2. When you are married
    And your husband is cross
    Take up the poker
    And say "I'm the boss."
    3. When I was young
    And in my bloom
A dish of stirabout I'd consume
But now I'm growing old and grey
There is nothing for me but the "tay."
    4. Love many
    Trust few
    Always paddle your own canoe.
    5. Never make love in a cornfield
