About twenty years ago a man by the name of Crowe was delivering bread to the shops with a pony and cart. There were thunder and lightning on this day. He was coming down below Doyles of Ballyling, and the lightning struck the man and the pony, and killed both of them. The pony and cart were pulled off the into a field. The man was brought to the nearest Public house, and there was an inquest on him a few days later.
