  1. A man named Jerr Flanggan lived in the Gap-Glen one time. He was rather fond of drinking.
    One day he took a load of hay to market. Having sold it he visited a public house. He drank 'till his head went funny- or till not a halfpenny was left in his pocket.
    Then he yoked the horse to go home. He started to fight with a lamppost and the guards imprisoned him.
    When he eventually reached home, and laid down his "sad" story before his friends this
