- Forths are plentiful aroung this district: they are called forths or fairy rings. There is a line of forts beginning in Clonlee through Gap Glen to Poulduff. Most of them are in view of each other, and a light has been seen going from one to the other.
All are circular in shape, built on a mound higher than the neighbouring ground with a deep ditch bounding them outside the ditch is a dyke or trench with one gap as an entrance. Whitethorn bushes from the ditch. In the centre(continues on next page)- Collector
