    Concerning of our Irish sports which was held out,

    The first match that we hurled it was in sweet Newtown.
    The Kinnitty boys did challenge us in hopes to put us down
    But when the game it did commence each for his man did go
    And the victors of the hurling field were gallant Roscomroe

    At Birr on Easter Monday the next place were we seen.
    Against the boys of Frankfort upon the hurling green
    The Frankforts went for leg or ball but found it
