  1. Folklore received from
    Mrs Cuddy, Poulduff, Kinnitty, aged 41; farmer's wife who heard them from Thomas Mooney, deceased. The latter was 72 yrs at the time of his death seven years ago and had lived in Poulduff.
    There is a holy well in Clareen known as Saint Kieran's Well
    It is situated on the broad, marshy, plains of Captain Bennett's lands. Near it stands the grey ruins of the ancient abbey of Saint Kieran. Part of it still stands and is in use as the Protestant Church.
