- My Home District, Banagher 5/12/36Banagher is my home district. It is my townland also. Banagher is the parish of Gallen and Rynagh and it is in the barony of Garrycastle. There are two hundred and fifty families living in Banagher. There are roughly about two hundred and thirty houses in this town, and 20 ruins of old houses. There is an old soldiers barracks in the West End. It was burned at the time of the great war. It is now used as a hand ball alley. One time during the big war there was a bomb put down opposite the railway gate to blow up the town. Something went wrong with the bomb and it id not explode.
