    As black as ink and ink it isn't, as white as snow and snow it isn't, it hops on the road like a marble stone, and a marble stone it isn't? A magpie.
    As I went out in a field of wheat, I picked up something good to eat, it was neither fish, flesh, feather nor bone and I kept it until it walked alone? An egg.
    Headed like a thimble, tailed like a rat, you may guess for ever, but you'll never guess that? A pipe.
    Hangs in the hall, drinks all it gets, and eats none at all? A lamp.
    Which side of the jug is the handle? The outside.
