  1. I was born in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. When I was twenty months old my parents left there to live in Dublin.
    When I was only 4 years old my parents left Dublin for Goleen in Co. Cork. I do no remember ever having lived at Ballinasloe and I have only a hazy recollection of living in Dublin. I was nine years in Goleen, Co Cork, and although it is not my home district now, I will endeavour to describe it as well as I can, as I am only a few months, in Ferbane, and do not yet know very much about this district.
    Goleen is a pretty little village near the point of a peninsula, about five miles from Mizen Head, in Co Cork. It is at the side of a little creek from which it got its name, in the Parish of Kilmore, and Barony of West Carbery. There are nineteen families in the townland of Goleen, with the approximate number of seventy four persons. The village has a Civic
