  1. There was a school at the cross roads of Lumcloon. The teacher's name was Mr. Daly.
    He always brought The full of his pockets of fine sand. He shook it on a big stool and the children used to write on it. He would go off and tell them to write there until he came back. They would not see him any more until it was time to go home.
    The school was in a house. Each scholar brought him a penny a week and a sod of turf.
