  1. 1. Blessed Mary meek and mild,
Guide me as you did your child,
Fill my heart full with grace,
That I may meet your blessed face.
    2. Here I lie myself to sleep,
To God I give my soul to keep,
    If any evil crosses me,
    The Blessed Virgin waken me,
If I die before I wake,
I pray to God my soul to (keep) take,
There are four corners on my bed,
There are four angels round it spread,
Saint Matthew, Mark, Saint Luke and John,
God bless the bed that I lie on.
    3. Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews
Preserve me from a sudden and unprovided death,
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ crucified.
    I lie down to rest,
Bless me O Lord defend and govern me.
