- (continued from previous page)4.There is a stone in Clonmacnois that cures a pain in the knee. It is supposed to be the stone where St Ciaran's cow left the print of her knee when she fell.
5.To cure a pain in your stomach, mix soot with water and drink it.
6.If a person boils parsley and new milk and drinks it, it will cure kidney trouble.
7.An old cure for warts is to get three double jointed tráitníns and rub them on the warts and then bury them in a manure-heap. By the time they are rotten the wart will be cured.
8. If you meet a black slug on your way, rub it on the wart three times, and stick the slug in a blackthorn bush. By the time it is withered the wart will be gone.
9. If you see a hollow stone with a drop of water in, rub the wart three times with the water, in the nae of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost and the wart will be cured.
