  1. The Fighting Hill is in Clonfanlough near Ballyhearth. Long ago there used to be great fights there and that is how it got its name.
    Once upon a time the Egans from Clonlyon and the Deverys from Clonfanlough had a great fight. It began in Ballyhearth at the “Wran" Egan’s where the road turns up to the Chapel. The Deverys beat the Egans down the whole road through Ballyhearth as far as The Fighting Hills.
    There the Egans made a great stand and the fight went on, and such whacking of sticks on skulls you never heard. The fight lasted the
