    Mary Daly is my name
    In King's Co. I was reared,
    But sad misfortune overcame me
    And I must die on the gallows tree.
    This awful deed I don't deny
    As I must face my God on high
    With a steel grape as there I stood
    I left my husband drenched in blood.

    On the sixteenth of June 1902
    My evil passion could not subdue
    When I was arrested and locked up in jail
    For all the world to hear the tale
    A loving husband to lose his life
    And all by the hands of his cruel wife
    With a castle grand on a hill of sand
    with its masonry hanging oer

    And by St. Ciaran's Well
    Where our prayers we tell
