  1. About a quarter of a mile north of Clonmacnoise cemetery on the road leading to Clonascra is a peculiar marked stone. This stone is locally known as St Ciaran’s stone and the old people tell many interesting stories about it, but here is a story often repeated by them and which is supposed to be true.
