  1. In the year 1839 on the 6th Jan. The day was on unusualy calm. Then towards evening the wind began to rise gradually, and towards 9 o'clock it was at rage. By midnight it was to its hieght. The people became terrified and the most of the people spent their night in prayer saying the rosary, as they expected every minute to be their last. There were many houses unroofed and a mist of salt came from the sea.
