  1. There is an old fort in Ballyoran. A man one time went to look at his sheep of a winters evening and he had to pass through this fort and while he was passing through a terrible noise and a dark cloud passed over the fort when he heard the noise he lay on the ground and all the sheep gathered around him and he thought that the trees and ditches were taken up out of the roots and he was afraid to come home the same way and he took another route.
