    Forts
There is a fort in my district It is in the centre of a field. There is a tree there, and it is said that every night after twelve o'clock the fairies come out and dance round the tree.
There are a lot of stories told about this fort.
It is said that there were a crowd of men gathered round the spot playing round the spot playing cards when one of the men saw a hole and on looking in he could not see the end of it, he got a straw so as to mark the spot while he went away for wire.
When he returned with the wire the straw was gone and the hole was nowhere to be seen.
As long as I remember I have never seen it being tilled.
A path still remains round the tree where the fairies are supposed to have danced. I was over there to-day where the tree was cut; there is a hole in the tree so long that my hand can almost fit in it.
I was coming home to-night with others
