    Father Began
Long ago in the district of Tullamore there lived a man named Carroll. This man carried his living by making peoms and selling them. and he was called Carroll the peot. He was very poor and on of he priests told him to come to the priests house and he would give him and old coat. Carroll came to the priests house and Father Began, the parish priest came to the door and Carroll told him what he wanted and Father Began told him to go away. Carroll then said to Father Behan O Father Behan don't be so mean
For I am poor and naked,
And in the hall there hangs a coat,
And can I go in and take it
    Father Began replied
O'Carroll the peot don't touch that coat
