Our Holy Wells
There are many holy wells in the district of Tullamore. The two principal ones are Saint Colum Cilles in Durrow and Saint Patrick's in Croghan. Many people visit the Durrow well on Saint Columcille's day. There is a round done at the well every year. The round is done by a procession to the well and the rosary is said at the well. A high mass is said in the chapel which is situated close to the well. People have not ben cured at the well. There is no special decease cured at the well. Some invalids drink the well water and other invalids rub the water on a sore spot. When people visit the well they leave relics
