    Tullamoore
    Tullamoore was not always the chief town in Offaly.
    About two hundred years ago Daingean was the principal town in Offaly because it was on the high road to Dublin.
    In those days people had to go to Dublin by the canal boats because they had no trains.
    About two hundred years in Tullamoore consisted of a number of small thatched houses in the place where Church St. now stands
