  1. Fairy Forts.
    In Lynally there is an old fort or mound in which the fairies are supposed to live, and sometimes curious noises are to be heard there. At the side of the mound there is a a passage at the end of which there is an iron door, at which sits two black cats guarding the entrance to the hidden treasure. One of the Mooney family tried to enter this passage but failed.
