    Ba gnáth leis an sagart onórach so uirasanna a thabhairt go dtí an carcar sa Tulaigh Mhoír óir ba shéiplíneach é don charcar.
    Casadh an sagart ar an gcoimeádaidhe ag geata an charcair.
    Ba gnáth leis an sagart leigint dó an geata d'osgailt - rud ná taithnigheadh leis an duine sin.
    "Rafferty", said he, "I'm here 30 years and I never had to open the gate yet for a Protestant - minister or landlord.
    "Oh, I don't wonder a bit at that" said Fr. Rafferty. "St Peter is longer at the gate of heaven and he never let in a Protestant yet."
