The following is a story told to me by my mother, it related to Kill well, which is situated near Daingean. One night a man named Mangan was going home across a field, and he saw a light, he heard a voice calling him, asking him to serve Mass. When he went to the light, he realised it was a priest, dressed in his vestments. He told the man that he was paid for a mass he did not say and he wanted him to serve the mass. He told him that he was to clean up kill well before sun rise every morning on 15th August.
