    About two miles from my house, there stands a Castle in a high field. When the Danes were in Ireland, they built this castle...

    About two miles from my house, there stands a Castle in a high field. When the Danes were in Ireland, they built this castle, and used it as a grinding mill. It was decided to make a road in to this mill, so that people could get to it easily. This road was made from "Wakeley's Hill" in Bally shall in through a bog, by a number of men who resided in that district. It is now called the "Black Castle.
