  1. A farmer once sowed a plot of onions and when they were grown up the snails started to eat them. He tried every plan to keep them off, but at last one farmer told him to shake salt on them he did this. The next day he went out to look at the them and to his surprise the snails had them all pilled and dipping them in the salt and eating them.
