  1. Some years ago there lived in this parish a man called John Gorman. One Monday morning he went to the fair of Tullamore.
    Before evening he became intoxicated and after leaving the fair he became very sleepy.
    When he could go no further he took the donkey from under the car and went to sleep. The next morning when the Sergent of the district was passing by he awoke John and enquired who he was.
    John looked around him for a while and then said; "Am I John Gorman?" "If I am I lost an ass and if I am not I found a car."
