  1. This castle was situated about three miles from Edenderry. It was owned by the Berminghams. An old story has it that these ruins would fall on a fair headed man. And about one hundred years ago, a fair headed doctor who lived at Ballyboggan was afraid it would fall on him. And in coming to Edenderry he alway crossed by the fields and would not go near the castle.
