  1. A local story relates that Carrick Castle will fall on a red headed man who is the wisest in the district.
About one hundred years ago or over there was a red headed doctor living near Trallyboggan who thought himself the wisest man in all the country, and that the castle would surely fall on him.
He would not pass near the castle, but would keep a safe distance away by crossing fields. It is related that until the day of his death no one could persuade him to go near the castle.
