    People do not marry in May or on a Friday.
    Sometimes straw-boys come to the house dressed up in old clothes.
    Hauling-home common in the old days.
    No match-making now. No stock given as dowry. People remember marriages taking place in houses about 70 years ago.
    "Marry in May, you'll rue the day."
    June is a lucky month to marry, and Wednesday a lucky day.
