  1. Let poets praise their native lands
And sing of scenes so fair.
But I will sing of sweet Glenbower
And the colleen I met there.
With daisies white were the valleys decked,
The sun's bright rays did shower,
When first I viewed the sublime scenes,
    The scenes around Glenbower.
T'was verdant summer, the trees were green,
The song - birds tuned all day.
By lovely walks and shaded nooks,
    Where lovers like to stray.
Though I have seen some cities fair,
    Spent many a pleasant hour,
I was filled with awe, when first I saw
    The scenes around Glenbower.
