  1. In the Townsland of Brittas, not far from my home, there is a fort and it is the local belief that it is inhabited by the fairies. Some of the older residents of the district often relate how they have seen them playing about in the moonlight. It is said that on a certain night every month they leave the fort and march three times around it and then disappear once more. One old man told how he was near the fort one day and, though there was a storm where he was, all was perfectly calm around it.
