They used to have porridge and milk for their breakfast. They used to eat only one meal on Ash Wednesday, "Spy" Wednesday and Good Friday.

The old people used to feed the pigs on the middle of the kitchen floor. All the family would sit in around the fire and give the pigs room to eat.
When tea came to Ireland first they sweetened it with honey instead of sugar.
