    so often we strayed
    And along the green banks where so often we played,
    Through groves and through lanes and
    down on the strand
    And round by the spot where the
    creamery now stands,
    Where the wood pigeons coo in the
    Sycamore tree-
    Theres no place in Tipperary to compare with thee.
    Fair island of veidure with the river all round,
    Where such hawthorn hedges are no where else to be found,
    When the green fields and valleys are
    covered all o'er
    With the wild flowers of nature and many things more,
    When the corn-crake's note sounds
    sharply at night,
