- (continued from previous page)to the soil. Canabhán-beag and daisy-roots are used for making cures.
- Some wild herbs are St. John's herb and lady-fingers, dandelion, black buttons, canabhán beag, water-grass, butcher's broom and nettles. The St. John's herb and canabhán beag cure worm-fever, and nettles are good for the blood. Dandelion is used to cure consumption and butcher's broom is used to cure kidney trouble.
The harmful weeds are thistles scutch-grass, praiseach, docks and groundsel. Scutchgrass and docks are poisonous for animals. Groundsel is given to birds to eat. - Yellow jaunders was cured as follows:-
Barbery shrub was procured and the bark removed. It was then boiled in new milk for half-an-hour.
