    and doors locked. He went into a hay shed to wait until the doors were open.
    He was not long lying there when he saw a gentleman coming up and laying his hand on the bench of hay beside him. The gentleman was dressed like a huntsman. He stood as if thinking which way to go; finally he went out in a gate which my grandfather knew to be locked. My grandfather then got afraid for he knew the other was not a real man, and he ran for his life all the way home. On his way he met one of the women workers coming to the place. He told her his story of seeing the man and she told him that it was not the first time a man of that kind was seen there. So he did not go so early again.
