- In this locality the travelling people are very common. These (travelling) people are commonly called tinkers. The name of the commonest of them are Cash. They travel as a family.They are quiet and they make no mischief. They sleep in a tent by night in a place called Ballybrennan Bridge.There are plenty of other tinkers around this locality. There are people by the name of Moorhouse. They make tea drawers and gallons, and many other things. They buy in town the stuff to make these.There are a lot of travellers begging. They ask for bread or a penny or tea or sugar. It is not usual for people to refuse them and when they get one thing they will ask for more; and when you give them anything they will keep coming day after day until you refuse them. Then they will go away cursing you.Some of those tinkers are very wealthy and you will always see the wealthy ones will always beg the most.A lot of them live by selling holy pictures and delph.
