- There is a wart well in Ballyknocken, .... Which was used by people of older times to cure warts it is in a hollow rock. The people used to go to the well before sunrise and dip their wart covered hands into it and make the sign of the cross. They would then go to the side of the well and say six pater over glories. It was said that the warts used to disappear inside a week.
