    I went along again, and still
    the noise continued, and everything I had heard about ghosts ran into my head, and I began to feel afraid for the first time in my life.
    I went along again until I came
    to the Chapel, and I said to
    myself that it would come no
    farther but go into the graveyard.
    I came on down the village
    street, but the thing still haunted me, until I reached my front door.
    I opened it rather hurriedly and stood in it, hoping that it woud not follow me into the house.
