  1. Once upon a time there war a
    house in a field by the road.
    The owner of the field was, Mr
    Hickey. Misterin.
    Travellers slept there in the house
    one night.
    About tweve o'clock in the night
    they heard someone blowing the fan.
    One of the men lit a candle, but
    they saw nothing but the fan
    turning and no one near it.
    They went asleep again, and they
    wor wakened by someone diggin' outside the door.
    They opened it, and when they did the diggin' stopped and they could see no one.
