There was a man wan time an'
he was known as the Schemer.
His right name was Jim Furlong.
He was workin' with a farmer
named Thomas Shannon, Newbawn
Co Wexford.
The farmer used to give the
Schemer American bacon an' he used to eat the Irish bacon himself.

One day the Schemer said
he was leavin', an' Mr Shannon
asked him the reason an' he
said, "You are too good to me."
"What do yeh mane man"? said
Mr Shannon.
"Oh!" sez the Schemer "tis too
good of you to be sendin' to
America for mate for me an' atein'
dould Irish stuff yerself. I wouldn't
