  1. Wan night there was a man
    comin' home from ramblin'
As he was comin' home, he
    heard something bawlin'
    inside the ditch an' he
    thought it was a ghost.
He ran home like the divil, an'
when he went in he fainted,
    an' said he would never
    go ramble any more.
A few nights after he took a
    sudden notion, an' he went
to ramble, an' that night the
    very same thing happened
    him as before
He said he'd go in an' see what
it was, an' when he went in
he could see nothin'. So he got
    home safe that night.
