    There lived in Rathkyle a very pretty girl named Miss Cox, and there were many who wished to marry her.

    There lived in Rathkyle , a very pretty girl named Miss Cox, and there were many who wished to marry her.
    One night there was a dance held in the girl's house and there were many there.
    Some time after, a song was composed about the dance and this girl.
    Those who are metioned in the song are as follows :-
    Greene. James Greene, (the present Redmond Greene's father (aged 77 yrs.))
    "Nick of the Heath", Nicholas Morrissey, Hayestown, (the present Nicholas Morrissey's (aged 74) father)
    Denis Carr.
    Nick Molloy.
    Peter O'Brien. Peter O'Brien lived in the Rathkyle lane, and only a few heaps of stones mark the place where the house stood.
    This is the Peter O'Brien about whom
    Alice Murphy, Coolnagree, Adamstown, Co. Wexford writes in her,
    "Digging for buried treasure,"
