  1. There was a man living in Dunard long ago. He was a farmer + had two men working with him on his farm.
There was an old Rath on the farm + there was a big tree growing where this Rath was. The farmer's two men were afraid to go near the tree. One day the farmer himself went out + began to dig and dug away till it was getting dark. As he was about going home he got an awful pain in his ear and was hardly able to go home. It was getting worse and worse every minute.
The doctor was brought to him but could do nothing for him. He died within a few hours.
