    The Tithe War.
During the Tithe War, after the battle of the Pound in Bunclody, a priest was coming across the river Slaney. A man stooped down to shoot the priest and when he went to stand up he was not able. If he got into bed he would be all right but when he would get out he would be bent up again. He did not kill the priest . The priest was coming to annoint the people who were dying.
